About me
Hi! I’m Alec, a designer and photographer based in Lincoln, NE. This
past December I wrapped up a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic
Design at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. During my degree, I had
the pleasure of working for the Daily Nebraskan as the Director of Art
& Design, as a graphic designer for Jacht (a student run advertising
agency), and as a graphic design and marketing intern at the UNL Career
Services office. I’ve found a lot of excitement and fulfillment in
designing things with the intent of visual accessibility, and doing so
for people and departments working to provide resources and help to
people who may be in need, specifically higher education, health, and
environmental resources.
In my personal time, you can find me tinkering around with old
electronics, designing digital stationary, dancing around Pinterest for
interior design inspiration, and collecting “old” digital cameras. I
have spent my recent months getting re-connected with my love of
photography my younger self once held. I love capturing emotion and
moods in mundane things that many people walk by every day, it’s been a
great way to feel more grounded and thankful for the spaces I
occupy.
Currently, I am working as a graphic designer at Peeq Pro, a company
focused on fighting the rising issue of dry eye disease as digital
screen use has become our new normal. I’ve been working on improving
their social outcomes, and designing custom boxes for every one of the
optometry offices they work with.
